Get Involved

We take all feedback, comments and suggestions seriously and many of the things we offer have come about directly from people’s suggestions.  There are many ways that you can get involved in what we do and how we do it.  Have a look through the details below and if you are interested please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Helping with our courses is a great way to get involved and do something that both the course attendees and staff really appreciate.  This could involve welcoming people to the courses, helping with the teas and coffees during the breaks, or helping with setting up and clearing away.  Volunteering in this way is completely flexible, so whether you wished to help out for an evening or a daytime course, just let us know.

Like all NHS services, the LIFT Psychology service faces a high demand and we work hard to ensure that we meet the needs of the local community. Resources and time are limited and therefore the needs of our service users are our priority.

We operate with careful procedures to protect the confidentiality of the people that use our service. Confidential work is conducted in all parts of our offices.

For these reasons, we are not able to support short-term work experience or shadowing requests.

Book Club:

We run a monthly self-help book club where a group of people meet up to talk about any self-help material they may have read.  While the main focus will be on the books listed in the Books on Prescription scheme, you are more than welcome to bring along any other books you may have found helpful.  The club is run once a month at Swindon Central Library.

If you would like to attend or have any queries, please contact us on 01793 836836.

Feedback Sessions:

Our feedback sessions offer you the chance to come along and have your say about various aspects of what we do.  This is an informal session, run once every three months, where we will bring along an agenda of some of the upcoming topics we would like your opinion on.  You are also welcome to bring along your own ideas and suggestions, and provide any feedback you may have. Refreshments are provided.
