Bereavement Support Group
February 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
This course will run for six weekly sessions, held on a Tuesday evening between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, starting Tuesday 18th February.
No Places Remaining
This free course aims to provide an introduction to bereavement to help understand the emotional and practical difficulties as well as some helpful ways to begin coping.
Topics covered include:
- Understanding the natural responses to bereavement
- Introduction to some helpful techniques in adjusting to life without the person who has died
- Some helpful ideas on managing difficult and sometimes overwhelming emotions
Although you may feel you need support after your recent bereavement, please note that this particular course is aimed towards people whose bereavement was more than 6 months ago. This is because often the feelings are still very raw and strong during the early weeks. Support is available through Cruse Bereavement Care or you can make an appointment to see one of our Practitioners at your GP surgery during this period.
Please note also this course is intended for those who are grieving the loss of human life and is not suitable for other kinds of loss e.g. pets. Support for grieving for the loss of pets is available through Blue Cross Bereavement Support.
Important information: Please note that this course is only available for people who are registered with a GP in the Swindon area. If you have any queries about this, please contact the LIFT Psychology Swindon main office on 01793 836836.
